Non metal gear by roguetoolpath

Sometimes, it’s easier to create self-made part, than try to find something that you need – These are thoughts of roguetoolpath, I guess.

“Precision and cool looking. Not everything is made of shiny metal.
Machinist handbook formulas for gear diameter, Ironcad to design gear blank shapes as desired. Sprutcam for all tool paths. Used 24r router to mill rough gear blanks. Then 8l lathe sized the blanks to calculated dia. Then 1100 mill with 4th axis, mandrel and gear cutter set to cut the gear teeth. Last the 24r router or ll00 mill was used to mill out center gear hub details.”

Gear is made on Tormach CNC machine.
